Sneak Peak at #NDA

The year has started off with a number of cool projects, that of course, I can't talk about yet. But here are some photos of dots on my face that may or may not be mean something...shhhhhh

SOVAS Awards

I am honored to have been a nominated for best VO in a commercial campaign for TV or Web, presented by @societyvoicearts. I am shocked and grateful to be recognized as part of this amazingly talented community. It's really cool that the Voice Arts Awards exist. Thank you Joan Baker and Rudy Gaskins for giving our craft a place to be celebrated. ♥️ 🎙 .

Although I still remain a nominee I truly feel honored just to be included. What an inspiring evening.

Ad Astra

It’s been a year of firsts! Opening this Friday is the first feature I’ve looped for. What a weird and totally different experience than your typical #VO session.

So thankful to my team for putting me up for it and for #theloopsquad for bringing me in. It’s seriously so cool to be able to work in so many different avenues of my profession.
Go see @adastramovie this weekend and listen for me in and around many space stations and smoothly welcoming you to a new planet.

Abominable in LA!

On an animated film you rarely get to work with your cast mates in the booth. Luckily we have premieres to get together and be silly!!! This weekend I got the chance to hang out with the amazing and gorgeous @chloebennet and the incredibly talented @alberttsai at our LA premiere. Their performances will have you laughing and crying at the same time!!
♥️♥️♥️ In addition to all the amazing food from the after party @189bydominiqueansel there were awesome face painters who did the cutest @abominablemovie art for us on our arms!!! NBC Universal, Dreamworks & @pearlstudioanimation you sure know how to throw a good party!

TIFF Red Carpet Premiere

Still reeling from the whirlwind day that was the world premiere of Dreamworks Abominable at the Toronto International Film Festival. Thank you to the amazing fans who came out to see us and our film. We are so proud to finally share it with you.

It was great having most of the cast together finally!!! @chloebennet, @alberttsai, @tenzingt4 & Sara Paulson are all so talented and slay in this movie!

Huge thanks to @universalpictures PR team and Jen Chamberlain for taking care of me on my first red carpet. It is incredibly disorienting 😳 And to all the photographers, I promise I’ll be better at it next time! So grateful that @dreamworksofficial and @pearlstudioanimation, led by the amazing Jill Culton, made a film about the importance of relationships and the strength of family. All set amidst the gorgeous landscapes of China.
And shout out to my amazing husband @over.dale for playing photographer and biggest fan cheerleader all night. .

Dreamworks Abominable

The word is out and so is the trailer! So excited to finally talk about my role in the upcoming Pearl Studios and Dreamworks Animation film, Abominable, opening September 27th!

I voice Yi's mother. My daughter Yi (Chloe Bennet), finds a Yeti on the run in the streets of Shanghai and decides to take it all the way back to its home in the Himalayas with the help of her two close friends. On their journey they deal with their own fears, doubts, and facing the emotions of losing her father. This family-friendly action adventure travels from the bustling streets of the city into the gorgeous mountains and forests of China.

I'm so proud to be a part of this film as it centers around a strong female lead, not a damsel in distress. In addition to its fun pop soundtrack it also showcases original violin compositions with sweeping melodies, something rare in animated films. The whole cast is incredibly talented and audiences are going to have such a great time. See for yourself in the trailer below!

Star Trek Dark Remnant: Verdict

This week my friends and I went to Dave & Busters to check out the new Star Trek: Dark Remnant VR experience. It's been many years since any of us have been to a Dave & Busters so we decided to make a night of it. Where do you eat when you're already going to a Westfield Mall in the suburbs? Obviously, Benihana.

Go big or go home!

After watching our onion volcano erupt and numerous shrimp tails flipped perfectly into our "chefs" hat, we headed over to play the game. For $5 each, up to four people can work together to protect the Starship Enterprise from asteroids and a Klingon attack!

Please enjoy this video of my friends and I looking like nerds. Trust me, what we're seeing and hearing in our VR units is awesome. And if you don't trust me, then go try it for yourself and tell me what you think in the comments below!

We look bored but we're having a great time, we swear!

Star Trek: Dark Remnant

Hate Klingons? Always wanted to fight in an intergalactic war and blow up other spaceships?  Believe you are the only one who can protect the Enterprise? Now you can, with me as your leader!  Let Commander Rachel Sager of the U.S.S Galileo lead you to victory against the Klingons and other dangers in the new VR experience now in Dave & Buster's all over the US.  Play it multiple times to discover all the different endings!  Can't get there right away?  Check out this clip to get you excited!

Like totally top 25!

I'll never turn down an opportunity to stretch my VO muscles.  This past Sunday, I put my warm motherly voice away and pulled out something special for NFL Kickoff's 25 hottest QB's under 25 spot.  Recognize me?  I barely do.  You'll literally never hear me do that voice again...unless you pay me ;)

Deb

Last night I got the chance to see the final product of so many people's hard work and passion. Deb is a feature film written by the fantastic Noga Pnueli and earlier this year we shot the short film version with very little money and lots of favors. Noga wrote and directed the short and it turned out AMAZINGLY. I'm so grateful to have worked with an amazing cast, crew, and story! The producers, Megan Halpern and Terry Huang were on top of it every step of the way and the casting director, Lisa Zagoria put together such a talented group of actors. I voice the title character, Deb (an AI device), and that's all I'm going to say, because no spoilers! Bonus, I got to be in a film with my best friend Melissa Tang who slays as Ada. I hope that you will all get to see it very soon. Wish us luck on the festival circuit!

Fortnite FTW!

What do you get when you mix superior intellect, flawless dexterity, and no need for sleep or food? You get Evelyn! Now that she's working at Sprint she has access to all the new technology and she's ready to show you. No matter who's feelings get hurt ;). Check her out dominating Fortnite in Sprints newest commercial.

Evelyn gets woke! Wants a job at Sprint.

Sprint's robot Evelyn is back and she's tired of knowing more than humans! She's ready to break out and tell the world what she knows, instead of just sitting around play piano all day :) Check out her newest adventure below! You can also see other mini adventures on Twitter @sprint

Would you want Evelyn in your office?

How about on a road trip?

Make life rich. Ritz!

Hey guys! My "mom voice" is back in a whole set of vignettes for Ritz! Below are the most recently released, keep an eye out for more to come. If you miss "robot voice", don't worry, you'll be hearing from Evelyn very soon ;)

And if you like these, make sure to like or comment on the youtube page!

Superbowl LII & Evelyn the Sprint robot

After an abrupt separation from Fox Sports NFL Kickoff, I didn't think I would be posting about football this season, let alone the Superbowl.  But as one door closes, another super awesome one opens.  If you didn't see it on Superbowl Sunday, I made my debut as Evelyn the robot.  She's smart, direct, and a little bit sassy.  The whole spot was really fun to record and I even got to go on set and work with the robot and her puppeteers.  Talk about a trip.  It was amazing to see how the sausage was made, then to actually see the finished product.  Everyone on the Sprint team and the creatives at Droga5, did an amazing job. They even built a whole social media campaign around Evelyn!  So proud to have been a small part of such a cool spot.  If you missed it, here it is:

Secrets Secrets are no fun.

I apologize in advance for the crypticness of this message, but as you all know, in this business, discretion is key.  Or in this case, an NDA :).  I won't be able to share many details for months, but if you have started adding home automation products into your house, or gotten into the habit of asking your digital assistant for things...you may hear a familiar voice soon.  Once I'm allowed to, I hope to share some of the process with you, because it's grueling.

Is that enough to go on?  Stay tuned!

For The Record Live!

Let me introduce you to For The Record Live! A truly fantastic live performance using the songs and scenes from your favorite Hollywood directors. I got the honor of voicing their most recent promo video. For those of you who already know who they are, let me help you get excited for them all over again. Even though we haven't seen a permanent show in Los Angeles for awhile, they have been expanding all over the world and the show just keeps getting better. Check out their website for more information! You won't want to miss one of their shows!

Pairs with Today

We all know by now that heart healthy California Walnuts make a simple salad better.  But did you know that Woodbridge wine by Robert Mondavi pairs with canceled plans?  Check out my new spot where I tell you all about it ;)

#StandwithPP

Since the election I have been stuck in the never ending emotional cycle of, "we are all doomed!", "that's not true, I can fight back!", "yay! we are making progress!", "we are all doomed, I'm going to just eat ice cream." I know a lot of people feel this way. A few months ago I was fortunate enough to work with Joss Whedon on a project that helped put me in the "that's not true, I can fight back!" category for at least a few days. It was released yesterday and I hope everyone watches and shares this video.

Planned Parenthood is an essential organization that provides healthcare for many women and men who can't afford it. They are providing factual, sexual health education that is severely lacking in many of our schools. They are providing health services and screenings that are otherwise inaccessible to many people who are struggling financially. We must continue to support them.

Rizzoli & Isles

Last night the world got to meet Nurse Jessica in ep 712 of TNT's drama Rizzoli & Isles. After it aired, I received a text from my mother saying "It is cool but too short. They should have put your hair up" I agree mom. Well, not entirely about the hair (it's the first role on TV where they didn't make me put my hair back or braid it into some ridiculous ponytail). Shooting with Angie Harmon was great! She and the crew were really nice. You never know what you're going to get as a day player. I'm glad I got to be a small part of their final season. Congratulations Rizzoli & Isles.

Headlander is a win!

Double-Fine has done it again with an amazing new game, Headlander. It was released back in July, but I waited to post until I had played through it. Regardless of the fact I was in it, I can honestly say I had so much fun playing it! The story is silly and the world is so rich! Fair warning, you do hear me around a lot. I had no idea, when recording, how many of the citizens I would populate. I also play a mechanic who you'll have to run errands for. Good luck! Never found my evil roomba, so if you do, let me know! Available on PS4 and Steam. Screenshots below from https://www.playstation.com/en-us/games/headlander-ps4/.

Fallout 4: Far Harbor

Cool news!  If you're obsessed with Fallout 4, they have released their biggest DLC package yet: Far Harbor.  More enemies, more world to explore, and more quests!  You'll find me in game bossing you around and asking for shit. Sister Mai is one of a few characters I voice.  Check out the video below.  As you continue to explore the world, you'll probably run into my other characters.  Enjoy the game!

NASCAR

When I started doing the promo for FOX's show NFL Kickoff, I was shocked.  Amazed that they wanted a female to do the super tease for their football show.  Then they brought me in for USGA Women's and Seniors Golf.  That was exciting and made sense.  Women's & Seniors...not mens. I thought ok, it's really cool that I'm part of the Fox family now.  Awesome.  But there was always one sport I was certain I'd never voice, NASCAR.

I'm happy to be wrong. For all you NASCAR fans out there, I'll be leading you in and out of Jeff Gordon's Daytona 500 Kickoff Celebration!  It airs tomorrow night, Sat Feb 20, 9pm ET on FOX.  It may not be the race, but it is a party!  I personally don't see the appeal of cars repeatedly going around a track anyway, but Cuba Gooding Jr.'s going to be there.  So tune in!  I know, because I said it.

California Walnuts

How many times did I have to say "heart healthy California Walnuts"? At least 10x more than you hear in this spot :) If you get inspired, check out more walnut recipes on their website! www.californiawalnuts.org

The new voice for Fox Sports NFL Kickoff!

In voiceover women are told over and over that there just isn't as much work for us as our male counterparts. This is quite true, but even more so when it comes to Promo. You know, the voices telling you what's coming up on your favorite TV drama, or what adventures Dora will have next week, or which sports teams are going head to head on Monday Night Football?

I'm excited to say that I've been able to make a little dent in that male dominated genre. Fox Sports has predominantly had men doing the Promos leading up to Sunday football. This season? You get to hear me :) I feel a little bit like Lake Bell in the movie In A World!  This is crazy!  So from now on, every Sunday, when you turn on the Fox Sports NFL Kickoff, take a closer listen to who's leading you into the show.

And for those of you who don't know me, I freaking LOVE football season.  This is a dream come true!  GO BOLTS!

Listen Up!

Think I can convince you to buy a trash bag? Check out my GLAD commercial, airing now!

Welcome to the Porch

I love telling stories.  It's why I fell in love with the MOTH podcast.  This weekend I hosted a storytelling event of my own I called, "Welcome to the Porch".  6 storytellers, including myself told stories from their lives to an audience.  There was booze, picnic baskets, and friends.  It was a magical event. Thank you to everyone who participated and who attended.  Since it was the first one, our recording software had a few kinks so unfortunately we are missing the very last story and some bits in between. Please be forgiving.  However, it sounds like I'll be doing this again, so we'll have plenty of chances to get it right!  Hope you enjoy!

Zombies Monsters Robots!

New Maps have been uploaded to the online game Zombies Monsters Robots by EnMasse Entertainment and guess who you'll hear in game?  Help Princess Lady Ping (voiced by me) escape from the clutches of General Sin in the map Den of Sin.  Then help the princess find her sister Lady Wen (also voiced by me) who is being held captive in the map Burnt Bridges! Finally help both sisters exact revenge on the Sorceress Madame Ke (voiced by guess who, me!) in the map The Shadow Palace!  The game is FREE and can be played on PC and on STEAM.  Happy vanquishing!

Mo'olelo turns 10

Had a blast celebrating the 10 year anniversary of Mo'olelo Performing Arts Company!  The cast of Yellow Face was reunited with the director and founder Seema Sueko and even the playwright himself, David Henry Hwang.  I'm so proud to be a part of this company.  They have all worked so hard to produce socially conscious and diversity rich shows while also reaching out to the communities to educate and encourage participation.  Additionally they are committed to paying artists union-level wages and producing their shows using eco-conscious practices. Congratulations Mo'olelo!  Here's to another 10!

CMU Drama 100 years old

Last night was the LA celebration for the Centennial year of Carnegie Mellon School of Drama.  Faculty, current seniors, alumni from all the years, and friends/spouses/significant others met up on stage 28 at Universal Studios to party and catch up. It was a rare gathering of such talented and accomplished people and yet every single person belonged.  We have all gone through the same rigorous and demanding program and therefore understand how hard every single person there has worked to get where they are today.  We had a chance to thank our teachers and to show them that we have remembered all the lessons we were taught. We reconnected with old friends and shared the secrets of navigating LA.  Here’s to you CMU Drama, for truly churning out the best of the best.  Not only talented but all around great people.  For more photos of the celebration including the parties in Pittsburgh and New York, check out the CMU School of Drama website!

I recognize that voice!

It's Christmas time, so naturally I went to Marshall's to stock up on some fake snow and scented candles.  As I was pushing my 1/2 size cart through the aisle the background xmas music cut out and BLAM Marshall's deals were pumped through the speakers.  It was my voice!  Totally crazy hearing yourself tell you about deals when you are shopping for them.  The ad's worked, I bought plenty!  Merry Christmas everyone!  Let me know if you hear it in your local Marshall's or HomeGoods!

Heat, Trailers, Scripts, and awesome.

Great day on set yesterday.  It was near 100 degrees outside where we were shooting and I was in a full suit and wool coat.  Awesome.  But the trailer was air conditioned and there was plenty of cold water.  Most importantly, I was having fun.  Lucky to get to do what I love.  Michelle Wong's Scandal script pages on set
